The Lion Hotel was built in 1822 in the heart of Dulverton, which is the headquarters of the Exmoor National Park. The Hotel offers customers a warm and friendly welcome where you can relax and unwind. You will find the service friendly and the hospitality second to none.

The Lion has a Lounge Bar providing a relaxing informal area to enjoy some local ales and ciders and a non-smoking dining room. Lunches and Suppers can be served in the Dining Room or the Lounge Bar where we can offer a variety of homemade pies, home cooked hams, plates and local specialities at affordable prices. We take pride in sourcing our produce locally, it’s fresh and in season - offering you a true taste of Exmoor - from Exmoor lamb, venison and game to fruits and vegetables.

Dulverton is the ideal base to explore unspoilt Exmoor and the surrounding countryside. Nestling in a natural bowl in the landscape, it is surrounded by deciduous woodland and small Devonshire fields.

There are several activities which anyone can pursue: Fishing, Riding, Shooting, Clay Shooting, Walking, Exmoor Safaris, Squash and Golf can all be arranged locally.

Local attractions within striking distance are:

Cleeve Abbey, West Somerset Steam Railway, Dunster Castle, Combe Sydenham Country Park, Dartington Crystal, Sheppy’s Cider Farm, Wimbleball Lake to name but a few.
