The Lion Hotel was built in 1822 in the heart of Dulverton, which is the headquarters of the Exmoor National Park. The Hotel offers customers a warm and friendly welcome where you can relax and unwind. You will find the service friendly and the hospitality second to none. The Lion has a Lounge Bar providing a relaxing informal area to enjoy some local ales and ciders and a non-smoking dining room. Lunches and Suppers can be served in the Dining Room or the Lounge Bar where we can offer a variety of homemade pies, home cooked hams, pates and local specialities at affordable prices.
Dulverton is the ideal base to explore unspoilt Exmoor and the surrounding countryside. Nestling in a natural bowl in the landscape, it is surrounded by deciduous woodland and small Devonshire fields.
There is a feeling of timelessness here...
Beautiful scenery, heather-clad moors and quiet leafy lanes plus Exmoor's free-roaming herds of Red Deer and Ponies. All of our 14 bedrooms have en-suite, TV, Direct Dial Telephones and Hospitality Tray. Opt for our four-poster bed for that touch of extravagance.
